26 New Collective The Asian Cultural Council of the Philippines held a benefit art auction for its 20th anniversary
“We’re in the business of giving branch to other artists and we’re very lucky that Jaime Ponce de Leon of León Gallery also believes in our mission,” says Maribel Ongpin, President of Asian Cultural Council Philippines (ACCP).
For its 20th anniversary this year, ACCP, held an exclusive preview of eight art pieces part of its Benefit Art Auction at the two-storey Bloom Café + Bar. Art aficionados and enthusiasts came together honouring Filipino artistry, talent, and culture.
With no programme to follow, guests filled the sophisticated space with chatter and laughter over wine and buffet of food, painting an ambiance of passion and love for Filipino talent. ACCP and León Gallery continues to showcase and promote the brilliance of Filipino artistry. The ACC Art Auction 2020 marks the
sixth collaboration of the two parties giving spotlight to Filipino artists. The array of artworks displayed around the venue, gave guests the chance to get a closer look at the paintings, highlighting Fabian Dela Rosa’s Dos Hermanas (Two Sisters) oil painting, a gift of the fabled artist to Rafael Palma, journalist, patriot, and president of the University of the Philippines. Other works by Ang Kiukok, Annie Cabigting, Arturo Luz, Fernando Zobel, and Jose Joya were also on full display and are part of the more than 150 pieces that are up for bidding.
