Tatler Philippines

The Summer Issue

-

We are six months into 2021 and this month we give you an inside peek into exciting destinations around the world and within our diverse and vibrant country. Although travel hasn’t fully rolled out yet, dreaming and planning about it is not such an exercise in futility as borders may soon open.

Let us start out with our beautiful, dynamic and multi-hyphenated cover girl Katrina “Kats” Razon who takes us on a tour of breathtaking Maldives. All Zoomed out and urban frazzled, she enjoys this precious time to retreat and rejuvenate in a way that positively impacts nature as well. Tantalising photos by her boyfriend Sean Lee-Davis will surely inspire you to book a flight there the soonest possible opportunity. Kats encourages everyone to support programmes that aim to protect, conserve and preserve the environment.

We head on back home to the captivating island of Siargao, one of my favourite spots in country, where the gorgeous Natalia Zobel introduces us to her resort, Inara. She has built a tropical resort that you all will surely want to visit. And you are all in luck as it opens this month. If you are looking for new destinations in the country then head on to Hidden Gems feature, which will entice you to marvel at other less explored destinations in the country.

“What would you tell your younger self ?” That question may sound like something you would hear in a beauty pageant, but it’s an introspective one that our subjects found a joy to answer. If I had to ask myself that question, I would say “to always be grateful and not to take things and people for granted. Not to be afraid of failure because those are the times that build character and strength and will help you face the future”.

Read about our tribute on Princess Diana who would have turned 60 years old this year. She has left an indelible mark on everyone she touched and will forever be our Queen of Hearts. Get to know the entertaining tips of five stylish ladies as well as the outstanding jewellers, artists and chefs who are currently creating a buzz in the city.

We would like to dedicate this issue to our general manager, Lynne Palma, who after close to 20 years is leaving the company. She has been an integral part of the success and growth of this magazine and she will be sorely missed. We would like to wish her all the best and remind her that she is much loved and appreciated by her Tatler family. Thank you, Lynne, for everything!

Lastly, to my dear sister Yvette who passed away last month, words will never be enough to say how much I will miss you. You are forever in my heart.
