Creating a City of Tomorrow

Soon to rise: Horizon Manila, a sustainable city on a 419-hectare reclamation project proposed by JBros Construction Corporation

Acity of contrasts, Manila exudes a certain kind of charm that’s a merry mix of historic churches, cultural sites, trendy malls, colourful jeepneys, crowded streets and compassionate people. But the nation’s capital city is not spared from the ongoing global pandemic of Covid-19 that has changed the world as we know it.

Bustling cities all over the world have come to a halt with this health crisis of epic proportions, and Manila was no exception, especially since it is one of the densest cities on Earth. But a year after lockdowns and social distancing, the city fights to thrive amidst it all.

Soon to change the map and future of the country’s premier city is Horizon Manila, the biggest reclamation project proposed by JBros Construction Corporation, which has been valued by Cuervo Appraisers at 321-billion pesos, making it one of the most valuable projects in the country today. This 419-hectare development will have a three-island configuration that will provide 21 kilometres of water frontage and 30 hectares of sprawling green spaces.

The proponents will not just build a new and sustainable city, but will revive and transform the City of Manila as well.

ON THE HORIZON: MODERN MANILA

“The master plan for the Horizon Manila Reclamation Project is aptly named Manileño, as it seeks to focus on the people of Manila and its community. Future residents and workers in Horizon can expect that while this is ‘new land’, it will serve as an extension of Manila rather than a ‘New Manila’ altogether,” says Jesusito “JR” B Legaspi, Jr, president of JBros Construction Corporation, which has been in the business of government contracting for over two decades now.

At only 29 years old, the young leader and civil engineer envisions green spaces to be prevalent throughout the three islands, as a way to create a well-balanced lifestyle for its future inhabitants.
