Beautiful Destinations founder and WWF ambassador Jeremy Jauncey joins Panerai in its advocacy of protecting the seas
Serial entrepreneur and globetrotter Jeremy Jauncey has always shown a sincerity in advocating environmental conservation. His passion has led him to partner with various brands and organisations that promote sustainable living and other causes that help nature cope with the adversities brought by modern man.
Such as the Italian luxury watch manufacturer Panerai. This year, the 34-year-old CEO of Beautiful Destinations, a travel marketing and media company he built in December 2012, has taken another step towards saving the environment. He has partnered with Italian luxury watch manufacturer Panerai in celebration of World Oceans Day.
“I have loved Panerai for as long as I can remember and it is a huge honour for me to join the Panerai family,” says Jauncey. “I’m excited to support their sustainability efforts and to introduce a new audience of consumers to this amazing brand.” Panerai and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of Unesco (IOC-Unesco) developed a programme that educates their stakeholders on marine life preservation.
Forging a relationship with Jauncey was a natural decision, according to Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué. “At Panerai, we believe that the most formidable challenges are only solved through visionary leadership and innovation. Environmental degradation is among the most critical challenges imaginable,” he says.
Panerai has developed sustainable schemes such as providing environmental-friendly transport for all its employees, providing Forest Stewardship Council approved paper for all its printed materials such as catalogues, booklets and special editorial projects, as well as distributing a manual that promotes energy saving.
The brand has also launched progressive environmental products like the Submersible eLABIDTM, the watch with the highest percentage of recycled-based material ever.
Jauncey and life partner Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach have also joined the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to echo its call for protecting wildlife across the globe.
“In my work, I’ve had the privilege of travelling to many exceptional places. These experiences have shaped me and made me a better person. But they’ve also given me a sense of responsibility for ensuring that future generations can experience these wonders,” says Jauncey in an interview for WWF.
“The notion that smart conservation can lift up both people and nature is core to WWF’s mission and is something I relate to strongly. I couldn’t be prouder to be a WWF ambassador,” he adds.
Jauncey is also actively supporting the projects of Gold Standard. This organisation seeks to address climate change through projects inclined to providing renewable energy, converting solid waste to fuel energy and educating more communities about the on-going environmental crisis.
As one of the most influential voices today, Jauncey takes pride in using his social media platforms to educate millions of his followers and encourage them to engage in conversations about the world’s long-standing problems.
“Social media is what we make of it. Cyberbullying and bad behaviour exist, but there are also people who use these platforms to make their voices heard, to organise and to channel their energy to worthy causes. I contribute by educating people about the importance of our natural world and motivating them toward positive action. I’m just one person, but through social media, one person can influence many, who in turn can do the same,” he explains.
In the coming days, Jauncey and Panerai promise a fruitful relationship that will help the modern world foster everything that is left of nature.
