Jeremy Jauncey and Pia Wurtzbach announce their engagement, proving once and for all that their love is real
Their international romance was anything but a quiet affair. Right from the get-go, people were in love with Jeremy Jauncey and Pia Wurtzbach; after all, the Beautiful Destinations CEO and the former Miss Universe queen make a lovely pair.
The couple first confirmed their relationship in the phenomenal June 2020 cover of Tatler Philippines, though eagle-eyed netizens had already been speculating about their relationship before that. They first crossed paths in London, where Jauncey had approached Wurtzbach to introduce himself. The two had recognised each other from their respective Tatler covers. But because of their busy individual schedules, both were only able to catch up in different cities around the world at the start of their relationship.
Almost two years after confirming their relationship, the couple have excellent news to share—they are engaged! On May 7, 2022, both Jauncey and Wurtzbach simultaneously posted a video of themselves celebrating their new status in Amanpulo. Two days before that, Jauncey had teased a photo of himself with a drink in hand, captioning it by saying: “sunsets in the Philippines are better than anywhere else in the world”, especially “when you have something to celebrate”.
In their short announcement video, Wurtzbach and Jauncey can be seen on a floating bar in Amanpulo, where Beautiful Destinations CEO surprised Wurtzbach with a bouquet and some drinks in hand. The brideto-be also showcased her brilliant round-cut engagement ring in photos of them together in a white bikini and Jauncey in a red paisley polo and shorts. Though it’s not clear when exactly Jauncey got down on one knee, the couple seems to have chosen a favourable time to announce their plans to their many friends and followers. Nigel Barker, Kevin Kwan and Solenn Heussaff were among the few who congratulated them right away on their enviable posts.
However, the real surprise came after Jauncey and Wurtzbach left the floating bar. Upon docking on the beach, Wurtzbach was left agape when Jauncey led her to a beautiful beachside dinner set-up. Lamps were placed to light the path they walked on, and both enjoyed a lovely private dinner on the shores of Palawan.
Though the couple’s engagement was exciting, we can only imagine what adventure their wedding will bring! Wherever the world takes them, we’re sure this handsome couple will always make it the experience of a lifetime, now with the other in tow.
