A Modern Trove

With only one unit per floor, The Silhoutte addresses the big market demand for space in a city home

-

Condo living in the city has built a reputation as settling for shoebox sizes, unless one has a little extra to spend on bigger units. Challenged to change this impression, however, the boutique group of Mosaic Realty and Development Corporation (MRDC) launched its pioneering residential project, The Silhouette, which allows homeowners to bask in the luxury of one unit to a floor residence.

“What we offer is a lifestyle of exclusivity, that you can own an entire floor, all yours without having to co-share floor space, air, audio and physical amenities with a neighbour or neighbours,” says Jillian Sze, MRDC co-founder and chief operating officer. The Silhouette’s three-bedroom or four-bedroom units are spacious enough for the average-sized Filipino family and come equipped with lavish furnishing and fixtures, such as European-grade appliances in the kitchen, natural stone counters and copper-free mirrors in the bathroom, and a walk-in closet and engineered wood flooring in the bedrooms. All at a fair price point to boot.

Sze adds, “With The Silhouette, we hope to change the impression that owning a unit designed to be exclusive does not have to be expensive, such as those offered by premium developers in Makati, Taguig, or Mandaluyong. Luxury is defined by comfort and extravagance.”

True to its name, the 19-storey building designed by firm WTA Architecture and Design is set to cast a silhouette against the city skyline with its sleek, black finish and distinctive, fluid curves inspired by the unique topography of San Juan, its location in the centre of Metro Manila. On top of its ornate exterior and prime residential layouts, The Silhouette also dedicates two entire floors to spaces for leisure and recreation, heedful to the desires and demands of today’s discerning clientele.

“[We] envisioned The Silhouette to be a home for people who demonstrate the same values [as us],” says Sze of the vision she shares with MRDC co-founders Jardin Wong and Miguel Tan. “The three of us are under 40 and we want to attract the same tenants into the building: younger, equally driven and highly ambitious.”

The Silhouette’s exquisite skydeck and open areas offer plenty of space to congregate and exchange ideas, as Sze perfectly puts it. She adds, “As you create your ambitions going forward, we give you masterfullycrafted spaces for you to recharge, relax, entertain, dwell and work.” Beyond the function room and outdoor space on the skydeck, homeowners also enjoy amenities like the adult pool surrounded by ample lounging areas, a children’s pool featuring anti-skid flooring, a glass-enclosed high-ceiling gym and an outdoor yoga area with a panoramic view of the city.
