Rains on ‘Yolanda’ anniversary – PAGASA
Yolanda-ravaged Eastern Visayas may experience light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms today due to the warm and moist easterly winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
As Yolanda victims mark the second anniversary of the typhoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Eastern Visayas.
Bicol, Caraga, Aurora, and Quezon will also experience light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
This weather scenario is likely to persist until tomorrow, PAGASA said.
By Tuesday, the tail-end of cold front may affect again the extreme northern part of the country until Wednesday.
The tip of northern Luzon may experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
PAGASA said light rains will still be expected over extreme northern Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan” by Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms may prevail over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
PAGASA does not expect the development or entry of a tropical cyclone within the next five days.
