Girl, 2, dies in Quezon fire
MACALELON, Quezon – A two-year-old girl died and 43 families were displaced after a fire broke out Saturday noon in a newly constructed public market here. Quezon Provincial Risk Reduction Management Office action officer Dr. Henry Buzar identified the fatality as Agatha Baluyot, of Barangay Masipag. One Jayson Jerez, 27, and three others residents of this town were injured during the fire that started at 1:40 p.m. Some 23 buildings housing residential and business establishments were totally burned, and some were partially damaged out of 50 structures, Buzar added. The fire was controlled at 4:45 p.m by fire fighters from Gumaca, Mulanay, Catanauan, Pitogo, Unisan, and rescuers from Unisan and Lopez.
