- (Rey G. Panaligan and Jun Ramirez)

Justice Secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II said yesterday that at least three witnesses are set to testify during the resumption of the inquiry of the House of Representatives on the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City during the time of then Justice Secretary now Sen. Leila M. de Lima today.

Aguirre named two of the three witnesses as Jonel Sanchez, alleged security aide and bagman of De Lima, and former deputy director of the National Bureau of Investigation Rafael Ragos who was officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Corrections that supervises the NBP.

The third witness whom Aguirre did not identify is an inmate who would testify that more than

₱300 million and not only ₱1.6 million was seized from inmates when the NBP was raided on December 15, 2014.

Aguirre said the testimony of Sanchez would delve only on De Lima’s relationship with her driver Ronnie Dayan.

Meanwhile, the Ombudsman did not accept the criminal and administrative complaints filed by the wife of high profile inmate Jaybee Sebastian yesterday against De Lima and two others for allegedly not securing the safety of her husband.

The Ombudsman turned down the complaint after Roxanne Sebastian failed to show up to swore-in the 28-page complaint. But her lawyer Eduardo Arriba said he will bring Roxanne to the Ombudsman to officially attest to the complaint today.
