WAR ON DRUGS
SULTAN KUDARAT: Seven people, including a couple, were arrested by authorities following an anti-illegal drugs operation in Sultan Kudarat on Tuesday. Captain Arvin G. Encinas, 6th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office chief, identified one of the arrested suspects as Albije Biang, who was apprehended together with his wife and five others at Purok Rang-ay, Brgy. Poblacion, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat at around 10 a.m. Seized from the suspects were five plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride weighing 25 grams, an M4, a .380 caliber pistol, and assorted drug paraphernalia. “The Army is in full support to the PDEA, which is now the lead agency in the government’s war on drugs,” 6th ID Commander Major General Arnel Dela Vega said. BAGUIO CITY: Two suspected drug pushers were collared by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cordillera and local police following separate operations. PDEA Regional Information Officer Fredderick Calulut, said Clifford Lacambra Remolar, 48, was arrested in Barangay San Luis for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” Calulut said, Remolar had evaded law enforcers during a previous buy-bust operation. Meanwhile, Darwin Turqueza Dariano, 43, was arrested after he sold two heat-sealed transparent sachet containing shabu worth ₱2,000 to an undercover agent of the PDEA. (Zaldy Comanda)
QUEZON CITY: A man who previously surrendered to authorities following the implementation of OplanTokhang was shot dead by an unknown assailant inside his own home, Wednesday. Police identified the fatality as Adrian Galang, 39. According to the victim’s live-in partner, Zaineth Nismal, the gunman even woke her partner prior to shooting him several times. The suspect, whom Nismal described as wearing a motorcycle helmet, black jacket and shorts, fled on foot. Nismal admitted her partner was a recovering drug addict. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
