₱2-M shabu found in QC house

-

New tenants of an apartment in Quezon City found in the ceiling of the house an estimated ₱2 million worth of shabu they first thought to be a fetus last Thursday.

Quezon City Police District director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar and La Loma Police Station (PS-1) chief Robert Sales presented to the media yesterday the seized shabu heavily wrapped with bags and plastic tape.

According to Sales, the tenants Joelou Peralta, 22, and Michael Bello, 32, both visual effects compositors, appeared at their station Thursday night to report the suspicious item.

During investigation, police learned that the duo move in the two-storey house on Antoinette Street, Parkway Village in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City, two months ago.

About two weeks ago, the two reportedly noticed that the ceiling access panel inside the bathroom at the second floor was opened but they ignored it.

However, at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, they noticed that the bathroom shower rod was bent and looked like someone had stepped on it to get to the ceiling.

Upon checking the ceiling, they discovered a heavily taped red plastic bag which they initially thought to contain a fetus.

Responding officers found out that the red plastic bag wrapped with white paper bag and concealed with clear plastic tape contained two kilos of shabu which police said has an estimated street value of ₱2 million.

Further investigation is ongoing. (Alexandria San Juan)
