Good weather this weekend
Generally good weather will prevail over the country this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.
PAGASA said there is no weather disturbance being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for the next three days.
PAGASA weather specialist Gener Quitlong said that the current weather system affecting the country is the easterlies or the winds coming from the Pacific Ocean which will bring hot and humid temperature.
With the recent termination of southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the northeast monsoon or "amihan" is starting to be felt in the country and is now affecting extreme Northern Luzon.
However, according to Quitlong, the State weather bureau has yet to declare the start of the amihan season as easterlies is still the dominant weather system.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with hot and humid temperature will be felt over Luzon due to easterlies.
Visayas and Mindanao will continue to experience fair weather with possible rainshowers due to isolated thunderstorms.
PAGASA raised gale warning over coastal tip of Northern Luzon and in the coastal areas of Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, northern coast of Cagayan, and Ilocos provinces.
It said that sea travel remains risky over these coastal areas.
