Pa dies, son hurt in bike accident

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – A man died while his son was injured after the motorcycle they were riding in crashed while avoiding a stray dog that crossed the road in Barangay Calbueg here Friday.

Police identified the fatality as Nelson Furio, 41, married and a painter, and his son, Jasper John, 21, both residents of Barangay Balagan, Binmaley, this province.

Investigat­ion showed that Jasper John, with Nelson as backrider, was driving their brand new black Suzuki Raider motorcycle without a license plate at around 7:45 p.m. when a stray dog that suddenly appeared and crossed the road.

Jasper John lost control of the motorcycle and crashed on the road. They were taken to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City where Nelson was declared dead. Jasper John sustained injuries on the different parts of his body.

Police revealed that they were suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and were not wearing protective helmet at the time of the accident.
