Musical celebration
THE much-awaited Malasimbo Music Festival is back.
Established by Frenchman Hubert d’Aboville in 2011, the annual event, dubbed “the Coachella of Asia,” continuously draws fans from all over the world as it celebrates music, art and mother nature.
Some of the notable names that have performed at the event prior include Joss Stone, Jimmy Cliff, Big Mountain, Radioactive Sago Project, SinosiKat?, and Joey Ayala.
Now on its 9th year, the Malasimbo Music Festival, happening from March 1-2, will feature three time Grammy award winner Robert Glasper,
IV of Spades, The Blue Rats, The Bleu Rascals, The Ian Lofamia Blues Band, Tas, and many more.
The festival is now being spearheaded by Hubert’s son-in-law, Miro Grgic, under Volume Unit Entertainment and is supported by the Department of Tourism.
