Alab repeats over Warriors

Defending champion San Miguel Alab Pilipinas bucked the absence of suspended center PJ Ramos to repeat over the lowly Zhuhai Wolf Warriors, 108-81, in the ASEAN Basketball League at the City of Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna.

Import Renaldo Balkman had 20 points, six rebounds, nine assists and three blocks while four others scored in double figures as Alab completed a four-game season sweep of the Wolf Warriors to solidify their hold on top spot at 15-3.

Alab won despite missing the 7-foot-4 Ramos, who served a one-game suspension for committing his fifth technical foul in Alab’s 105-76 win over the Wolf Warriors last Friday in Zhuhai, China.

Coach Jimmy Alapag’s team also picked up another victory a day after securing the ABL’s first playoff spot following Mono Vampire’s 108-102 loss to CLS Knights Indonesia in Surabaya.
