Beautiful disaster?

SEVERAL celebritie­s captured on camera the recent eruption of Taal Volcano.

Dingdong Dantes shared his on Instagram.

It showed the enormous plume of ash emitted by the Volcano.

The actor said the photo was taken in Indang, Cavite, which is about seven kilometers from Tagaytay Road.

Piolo Pascual also shared a photo of the eruption as seen from his rest house in Batangas.

Meanwhile, a photo shared by actress Jennica Garcia showed how the trail seemingly reached the clouds.

In the photo’s caption, the actress explained the photo was from her husband who was working in Batangas at the time.

She went on to ask for prayers for residents in the area including several celebrity friends like couple Chito Miranda and Neri Naig.

Chito himself shared a photo of his car’s windshield which was covered with ash.

“Grabe na ulan dito! Parang putik na may kasamang abo at pebbles! Ingat kayo lahat,” he said.

Actress Heart Evangelist­a also took to social media to share her two cents concerning the incident.

She posted, “Sending prayers to those who are affected by this unfortunat­e situation.”

Other celebritie­s who felt it necessary to post on social media the need to ask for prayers for residents in the area were Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, and Loisa Andalio.

Meanwhile, Gary Valenciano and Bianca Gonzalez cautioned followers about the dangers of inhaling volcanic ash.

As more photos of the eruption made it on social media, some took effort to mention how “beautiful” the eruption looked.

This infuriated Frankie Pangilinan, daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Francis Pangilinan.

She posted, “Like yuck? Don’t be all ‘beautiful disaster’ please. Mother Nature is terrifying and we can sit here in awe but never neglect the suffering of some people.”

“Maging sensitibo naman po tayo,” she added.

Several flights and classes have also been canceled due to the ashfall.
