JUST A THOUGHT: “Love is the beauty of the soul” – Anonymous

NEW TIMESLOT: Caught an episode of “Wowowin” while I was having my hair done. I mean, having a haircut, hahaha.

In the middle of the variety show, host Willie Revillame announced that starting Feb. 15, the daily program shall move to a new timeslot, primetime no less, at 7 p.m., still on GMA.

“Wowowin,” which continues to enjoy wide patronage among the masses, has been with the network since 2014 on a coproduction deal.

The show has been most generous in giving out cash gifts to participants and even those sitting in the gallery.

THE WILL TO WIN: Willie announced the return of a well-loved segment, “The Will To Win,” known for having given away substantial prizes to lucky game players.

This time around, they can win 2 million pesos worth of cash prizes, a brand new car, a house and lot.

In celebration of Willie’s birthday last Jan. 27, he led his team in handing out sacks of rice to victims of Taal eruption.

Willie has a rest house in Tagaytay directly fronting Taal Volcano.

PATINTERO, GO: That afternoon, as Mario, my barber, worked on my lush hair cascading down to my shoulders, I was happy to note that “Wowowin” promotes native Filipino games.

One of the segments in the program is Patintero, which requires participants to play a round or two of the game. I thought it was one good way to remind our young people that once upon a time, patintero was a common, favorite pastime among Filipino children.

YOU GOT ME: Yen Santos and Enzo Pineda topbill tonight’s episode (Feb. 15) of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on ABS-CBN titled “You Got Me.”

Giving up on love after a series of failed relationships, Karen (Yen) settles on being a spinster as she retires to her home province. At the municipio where she works, colleagues match her with the lone police bachelor in town, played by Enzo.

This week’s episode also stars Tetchie Agbayani, Soliman Cruz, Yayo Aguila, Neil Coleta, Vance Larena.

Episode is directed by Elfren Vibar and written by Akeem del Rosario.
