Tanod nabbed in drug bust
NUEVA VIZCAYA – A barangay tanod chief who also serves as a traffic enforcer was arrested last Monday by anti-narcotics agents and police during a drug bust in Barangay Roxas, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region II reported that suspect Marco Paulo Angeles , 43, a resident of Barangay Poblacion North, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya was nabbed around 5:40 p.m..
The suspect sold a small plastic sachet containing shabu to a PDEA operative, who posed as a buyer, for P1,000, according to PDEA.
Recovered from the suspect during the operation were shabu worth P3,336, a cellular phone and a motorized tricycle.
It was learned that Angeles was included in the PNP/PDEA list of drug personalities. He was a “Tokhang” surrenderer who completed the communitybased rehabilitation program.
The suspect is now under the custody of Solano Police. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, the antidrugs law.
