Pacquiao versus McGregor?
Manny Pacquiao is mulling a possible fight with Irish mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor as he plots his return to the ring, representatives for the Filipino boxing icon told AFP on Friday.
Sean Gibbons, president of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, told AFP in an email a fight between the eight-division world champion and McGregor would be a “tremendous global event.”
Pacquiao,41,h as not fought since claiming the WBA welterweight crown with a stunning victory over Keith Thurman in Las Vegas in July last year.
Jake Joson, a special assistant of Pacquiao, said the portion of the fighting senator’s earnings will given to those who are affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Joson, however, said Pacquiao does not want to talk about boxing yet since everybody, especially the Filipinos, is still dealing with the deadly disease.
He said that the senator’s main focus right now is ‘’to help here and there, providing relief, shelter, money and food, among other necessities.’’
The Pacquiao-McGregor fight might happen in the Middle East next year.

John Riel Casimero made weight on the eve of his WBO bantamweight title defense against challenger Duke Micah of Ghana at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Casimero, defending the belt for the first time, tipped the scales at 117 3/4 lbs during Saturday morning (Manila time) weigh-in while Micah came in at 117 1/4 lbs.
