Bato wants Robin Padilla to portray him in biopic
RETIRED Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa revealed he has been approached by producers hoping to bring his story to life via film.
He is still thinking about it he said, wanting to make sure the story would be more “inspirational” than action-packed.
“Ang buhay naman talaga natin eh, ma-aksyon na, kaya sana kung matuloy, ang gusto ko gawin itong inspirational, ‘yung kapupulutan ng aral,” he said. “Mas gusto ko kasi ma-inspire ang mga tao, lalo na ang mga kabataan na kahit galing ka sa mahirap, you could be somebody.”
Dela Rosa went on to share how he used to walk to school mainly because he has no baon.
“May mga araw kasi na walang kita ang tatay ko so, naglalakad lang ako, mga 8 kilometers din ‘yun,” he said. “Tapos para makakain naman, tinutulungan ko ang mga classmates ko sa assignment nila. Mahirap.”
If ever, the general wants Robin Padilla to portray him in the biopic.
“Siyempre kaibigan ko na rin naman siya at magaling na aktor si Robin,” he said.
As to the actress who will portray his wife in the film, dela Rosa pointed to the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta, saying, “Matutuwa misis ko nun kasi fan siya ni Sharon eh.”
Dela Rosa is among senatoriables running in May 2019.
His reason? He wants to further President Duterte’s programs.
“Puwede ako tumakbo sa Davao, sa local, pero sa tingin ko kasi mas makakatulong ako sa Senado, mas may chance na maisulong natin ang mga programa ng pangulo,” he said.
The 56-year old added, “Gustong-gusto kong suportahan si presidente sa kanyang mga programa dahil nakikita ko, kung wala siyang mga kaalyado or kakampi sa Senado, mahihirapan siyang isabatas ang kanyang mga programa. So, sabi ko, I must be there to support him.”
Would he tap Coco Martin as endorser?
The actor was embroiled in controversy after the Philippine National Police (PNP) complained of their portrayal in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.”
According to dela Rosa he would like to have Martin on his side only that he probably can’t afford his talent fee.
“Pero kung mag-volunteer siya, bakit hindi?”
He is also willing to make an appearance on Martin’s show.
“Basta ‘wag lang ako ‘yung papatayin, dapat buhay. At saka hindi dapat sindikato, kapag sindikato huwag na lang.”
