Singkuwento filmfest finalists, hayag na
PORMAL nang inihayag ang official finalists ng Singkuwento International Film Festival Manila Philippines (SIFFMP) 2019, now on its fourth edition, na ang independent filmmaker na si Perry Escaño ang isa sa founders at siyang festival director.
Sa press conference ng nasabing indie filmfest last Jan. 8, sa The Legend Villas sa Mandaluyong City, inanunsiyo ang finalists sa tatlong kategorya.
Sa full length film category, in competiton ang limang bagong mga pelikulang may iba’t ibang istoryang aabangan hindi lamang ng mga film enthusiasts, kundi ng general audience as a whole.
Ang SIFFMP 2019 ay gaganapin sa Feb. 15-22 sa teatro ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) sa Intramuros, Manila. Handog ito ng MPJ Entertainment Productions in cooperation with NCCA, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), at ang Asian Television Content Corporation headed by Engr. Rey Sanchez.
Gaganapin ang Awards Night sa Feb. 23 sa Atrium ng Resorts World Manila (Pasay City), at sa unang pagkakataon, magkakaroon ng telecast ang nasabing Gabi ng Parangal sa March 23 (Sat), 8 p.m. sa IBC13.
Narito ang five official finalists ng Full Length Film category:
1. “KAPAYAPAAN SA GITNA NG DIGMAAN” (historical drama) – directed by Nestor Malgapo, Jr.. Cast sina Richard Quan, Celina Talavera, Christopher Roxas.
2. “PROMDI” (drama) – written and directed by Charlotte Dianco. Tampok sina Kiko Estrada, Shaira Diaz, Chris Leonardo, Kervin Rivas, Mavi Lozano
3. “RENDEZVOUS” (fantasy drama-romance) – directed by Marvin Gabas, starring Gina Pareño, Patani Daño, Jiana Aurigue, Tonz Are
4. “PLAYGROUND” (drama) – directed by Dave Cecilio, bida naman dito ang dating alaga ni German Moreno sa Master Showman na si Neptali Toribio, also with Buboy Villar, Lance Raymundo, China Roces, and Rosanna Roces
5. “PUR LAINE” (comedy-drama) – directed by Filipino-Canadian filmmaker Alexander Cruz, based in Quebec, Canada, kunsaan tampok sa cast sina Christian Paolo Lat, Celestine Caravaggio, and Issabelle Lafond
For the Documentary Film competition (shorts), ang limang finalists ay:
1. “Durungawan” (Window) – directed by Daniela Mariel Laygo
2. “Landong” (Shadow) – directed by Ma. Toiza Gorantes
3. “Takip Sining” (Hidden Art) – directed by Sophia Louise Geslani
4. “Serbedora” (Servant) – directed by Roxanne Gomez
5. “Liwanag” (Light) – directed by Arby and Christine Laraño
Jury members ang multi-awarded scriptwriter and author na si Ricky Lee, ang award-winning director na si Joselito Altarejos, ang entertainment journalist na si Marinel Cruz, at awardwinning filmmaker na si Zig Dulay.
