PORMAL nang in­i­hayag ang of­fi­cial fi­nal­ists ng Singkuwento In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val Manila Philip­pines (SIFFMP) 2019, now on its fourth edi­tion, na ang in­de­pen­dent film­maker na si Perry Es­caño ang isa sa founders at siyang fes­ti­val di­rec­tor.

Sa press con­fer­ence ng nasabing in­die film­fest last Jan. 8, sa The Leg­end Vil­las sa Man­daluy­ong City, ina­nun­siyo ang fi­nal­ists sa tat­long kat­e­go­rya.

Sa full length film cat­e­gory, in com­peti­ton ang li­mang bagong mga pe­liku­lang may iba’t ibang is­to­ryang aa­ban­gan hindi lamang ng mga film en­thu­si­asts, kundi ng gen­eral au­di­ence as a whole.

Ang SIFFMP 2019 ay gaganapin sa Feb. 15-22 sa teatro ng Na­tional Com­mis­sion for Cul­ture and the Arts (NCCA) sa In­tra­muros, Manila. Han­dog ito ng MPJ En­ter­tain­ment Pro­duc­tions in co­op­er­a­tion with NCCA, Film De­vel­op­ment Coun­cil of the Philip­pines (FDCP), at ang Asian Tele­vi­sion Con­tent Cor­po­ra­tion headed by Engr. Rey Sanchez.

Gaganapin ang Awards Night sa Feb. 23 sa Atrium ng Re­sorts World Manila (Pasay City), at sa unang pagkakataon, magkaka­roon ng tele­cast ang nasabing Gabi ng Paran­gal sa March 23 (Sat), 8 p.m. sa IBC13.

Nar­ito ang five of­fi­cial fi­nal­ists ng Full Length Film cat­e­gory:

1. “KAPAYAPAAN SA GITNA NG DIGMAAN” (his­tor­i­cal drama) – di­rected by Nestor Mal­gapo, Jr.. Cast sina Richard Quan, Celina Talav­era, Christo­pher Roxas.

2. “PROMDI” (drama) – writ­ten and di­rected by Char­lotte Dianco. Tam­pok sina Kiko Estrada, Shaira Diaz, Chris Leonardo, Kervin Ri­vas, Mavi Lozano

3. “REN­DEZVOUS” (fan­tasy drama-ro­mance) – di­rected by Marvin Gabas, star­ring Gina Pareño, Patani Daño, Jiana Aurigue, Tonz Are

4. “PLAY­GROUND” (drama) – di­rected by Dave Ce­cilio, bida na­man dito ang dat­ing alaga ni Ger­man Moreno sa Master Show­man na si Nep­tali Toribio, also with Buboy Vil­lar, Lance Ray­mundo, China Roces, and Rosanna Roces

5. “PUR LAINE” (com­edy-drama) – di­rected by Filipino-Cana­dian film­maker Alexan­der Cruz, based in Que­bec, Canada, kun­saan tam­pok sa cast sina Chris­tian Paolo Lat, Ce­les­tine Car­avag­gio, and Iss­abelle La­fond

For the Doc­u­men­tary Film com­pe­ti­tion (shorts), ang li­mang fi­nal­ists ay:

1. “Du­run­gawan” (Win­dow) – di­rected by Daniela Mariel Laygo

2. “Lan­dong” (Shadow) – di­rected by Ma. Toiza Go­rantes

3. “Takip Sin­ing” (Hid­den Art) – di­rected by Sophia Louise Ges­lani

4. “Serbedora” (Ser­vant) – di­rected by Rox­anne Gomez

5. “Li­wanag” (Light) – di­rected by Arby and Chris­tine Laraño

Jury mem­bers ang multi-awarded scriptwriter and au­thor na si Ricky Lee, ang award-win­ning di­rec­tor na si Joselito Altare­jos, ang en­ter­tain­ment jour­nal­ist na si Marinel Cruz, at award­win­ning film­maker na si Zig Du­lay.
