Pa dies, son hurt in bike ac­ci­dent

MALASIQUI, Pan­gasi­nan – A man died while his son was in­jured af­ter the mo­tor­cy­cle they were rid­ing in crashed while avoid­ing a stray dog that crossed the road in Barangay Cal­bueg here Fri­day.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the fa­tal­ity as Nel­son Fu­rio, 41, mar­ried and a painter, and his son, Jasper John, 21, both res­i­dents of Barangay Bala­gan, Bin­ma­ley, this prov­ince.

In­ves­ti­ga­tion showed that Jasper John, with Nel­son as back­rider, was driv­ing their brand new black Suzuki Raider mo­tor­cy­cle with­out a li­cense plate at around 7:45 p.m. when a stray dog that sud­denly ap­peared and crossed the road.

Jasper John lost con­trol of the mo­tor­cy­cle and crashed on the road. They were taken to the Pan­gasi­nan Provin­cial Hos­pi­tal in San Car­los City where Nel­son was de­clared dead. Jasper John sus­tained in­juries on the dif­fer­ent parts of his body.

Po­lice re­vealed that they were sus­pected to be un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol and were not wear­ing pro­tec­tive hel­met at the time of the ac­ci­dent.
