Six Swedish nationals lose cash, belongings

Six vacationin­g Swedish nationals lost cash and belongings while staying at a hotel in barangay Pusok, Lapu-lapu City.

The six foreigners went to the police yesterday after finding out they had been robbed.

Carl Emmanuel Lindqyist, 24, single, lost P20,000, Simon Sandebong, 24, single, lost P20,000, Emil Odman, 27, single, lost P20,000, Martin Bengsten, 25, single, lost P20,000 and an Iphone, Robin Thyshelrus, 25, single, lost an undetermin­ed amount, and Dylan Mafachlein, 22, single, lost P15,000.

Police said all the six victims went to General Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City Friday midnight to have a drink at a bar at Mango Square.

Here, they met women who joined them at their table. The women had beers.

At around 4 a.m., Thyshelrus and Mafachlen left the bar with two women and went to their hotel rooms.

Odman and Bengsten arrived at the hotel together with women at 6 a.m. but the women left at 7:30 a.m.

Lindyqyist and Sandebong arrived at the hotel at 7:30 a.m.

When Lindqyist and Sandebong returned, they discovered their money placed in their bags was already missing.

PO2 Joseph Ruel Cotanda of the theft and robbery section said there were no signs of forced entry into their hotel rooms.

The police will invite the women and some hotel personnel for questionin­g.
