-

Aboitizpower, and in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation, recently inked deals with power distributors South Cotabato I Electric Cooperative, Inc. ( SOCOTECO I), South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative, Inc. ( SOCOTECO II), and major industrial steel manufacturer Steel Asia, to help improve the quality of education for the youth.

Aboitizpower and SOCOTECO I, represented by its Board VP Dir. Claudio Tapleras, recently signed an agreement to formalize their partnership in providing Information and Communications Technology training. These are for teachers of Lugan Central Elementary School in South Cotabato. Along with these, the group also turned over 10 computers to the school to better equip around 1,900 students with the latest technological knowhow.

Aboitizpower's agreement with SOCOTECO II, represented by its Board President Elenito Senit, facilitated the installation of an air-conditioning unit, rewiring of a classroom for computers, and installation of new metering devices and circuit breakers for the New Guadalupe Elementary School.

Aboitizpower and Steel Asia, represented by its COO Antonio Lorenzana, donated mini libraries and computer units to Salong Elementary School and Puting Bato Elementary School and arm chairs to Lumban Calzada Primary School, benefiting about 1,300 students in Calaca, Batangas.

"Aboitizpower is more than just providing consumers with reliable power. We strongly believe that we have a major role to play not only in bringing reliable energy and power solutions, but also in giving back to the community," Erramon Aboitiz, Aboitizpower president and CEO said.

Aboitiz Power focuses on the social and economic development needs of less privileged communities both within and outside the areas where the company operates. It forges ties with business partners to ensure a more successful implementation of projects fit for the various needs of its beneficiaries.

"We are very grateful that we have partnered with like- minded organizations that prioritize community efforts which benefit receivers in the long run. Education has always been our utmost concern, providing students with essential equipment, supplies and skills that they need to be successful leaders and stewards of our nation later on," Aboitiz said.
