Aleli, not Ibuna will get Phl flag from Congress

-

MANILA – Aleli Arroyo will be the one to accept the Philippine flag from the House of Representatives during the necrological service for the late Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio Arroyo.

The remains of the deceased lawmaker are expected to arrive on Wednesday night and will be brought for a service at the House of Representatives on Monday morning.

Aleli said she will accompany the remains when these are brought to the House of Representatives compound from their conjugal house in La Vista Subdivision in Quezon City.

Her lawyer, Lorna Kapunan, said Aleli, being the legal wife, will be the one to accept the Philippine flag from Congress.

During a hearing before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 92, the lawyers of the parties in the case filed by Aleli discussed the schedule on the funeral arrangements they had agreed upon.

The remains will arrive at around 10 p. m. on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and will be brought to Arlington Chapel for preparation.

Rep. Arrroyo’s remains will then stay at the Arroyo ancestral house in La Vista Subdivision from Thursday until Saturday morning.

There will be 10 a.m. mass there before the remains are transferred to the conjugal house of the lawmaker and Aleli also in La Vista. The remains will be there until Monday morning when they are brought to Congress for the necrological service.

At 4 p.m. on Monday, the remains will be flown to Bacolod, where these will stay until Thursday next week, during which these will be flown back to Manila to again be brought to the Arroyo ancestral house.

The remains will stay at the Arroyo ancestral house until the interment on Friday next week at the Manila North Cemetery.

Former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has been allowed by Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 Judge Jesus Mupas to attend the wake at the La Vista mansion on March 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Upon the submission of the final compromised agreement, Kapunan said they will move for the dismissal of the TRO and injunction case that her client filed against Grace Ibuna before the court in Quezon City. (Philippine STAR News Service)
