NDAP to hold convention
The Nutrition- Dietitian’s Association of the Philippines ( NDAP) is holding it’s 57th Annual Convention from March 1 to 3, 2012 at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City, with the theme “Transforming Nutrition- Dietitians for Global Practice”. Cebu Vice Governor Hon. Agnes A. Magpale, who is also a nutritionist- dietitian, is the keynote speaker.
The convention is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 members from the different NDAP chapters of the Philippines, US and other parts of the globe. This year, NDAP has adapted a timely and all- important theme that focuses on the opportunities and challenges that face our NDS today. How are we responding to the global challenge? How do we prepare the nutritionist- dietitian services as potential engine of economic growth while equitably providing social benefits to the local community? These are some of the topics that will be discussed in the convention.
The three- day event which includes a technical tour will provide the venue for NDS to attend technical presentations by top- notch practitioners with varied technical expertise. The presentations will provide the opportunity for NDS to receive state- of- the- art technical knowledge from the latest R& D in the field to make them competitive not only in the local setting but also in the global community.
The president of the association is Dr. Celeste C. Tanchoco, RND, MPA, Drph and the overall chairman of the convention is Mrs. Cecilia C. Ruiz, RND, MPA, chief dietitian of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and also a Board of director of the NDAP Cebu Chapter. ( PR)
