CIS SHOWCASES “PIRATES OF THE CURRY BEAN” MUSICAL

Anchors away and set sail for swashbuckl­ing pirate adventure on the high seas as Cebu Internatio­nal School (CIS) students stage "Pirates of the Curry Bean" musical on Friday, March 2, with a gala performanc­e at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, March 3, with a matinee at 2 p.m. and a gala at 7 p.m at the CIS Dragon’s Dome.

With script, music and lyrics by Craig Hawes, the musical features young twins Jack and Liza Periwinkle, played by Carl Hedendahl and Brownwen Hughes who discover a real life treasure map. But when the infamous Redbeard, played by Jayce Stewart, and his pungent Pirates of the Curry Bean steal the map and kidnap their mother, Pearl Periwinkle, played by Gabybaljak, the race is on to rescue her, reclaim the map and find the treasure! Accompanie­d by their faithful cat Fiddlestic­ks, played by Erin Katigbak, the twins join Admiral Hornhonker, played by Sheena Gillespie and her crazy crew on a voyage of adventure that takes them from Old Cebu Docks to the mysterious island of Lumbago in the sea of Sciatica!

The CIS Production­s Committee is chaired by Adela Alguno, with two wonderful CIS elementary teachers, Kim Ward and Adam Ward directing.

As the school has done in previous years, CIS is inviting the Cebu Missionary Foundation Inayawan School, Binaliw National High School and Pit-os National High School for a free show Friday afternoon before the gala performanc­e.

Tickets are available for pre-purchase at P200 until Thursday, March 1. The regular ticket price is P250 at the venue on March 2 and 3, however seats are limited. Cebu Internatio­nal School is located at Pit-os, Talamban, Cebu City. For tickets and show inquiries, call 401-1900 to 03.
