Celdran rules CCC February Monthly Medal

Clifford Celdran fired a gross score of four-overpar 76 strokes to bag top honors in the February Monthly Medal of Cebu Country Club.

Celdran had nines of 41 and 35 strokes to win the lowest gross honors for class A.

Kiyofumi Takahashi carded a net 67 off a gross 77 to win the lowest net plum for the premiere handicap class. Runner-up honors went to Marco Mendoza with a net score of 68 strokes.

The lowest gross honors for class B went to Ernesto Siguan with 83 strokes off nines of 42 and 41.

The lowest net award for class B went to Vic Cajita with 68 strokes off a gross 86 while Manabu Ichikawa bagged the runner-up honors with a net score of 72.

Washington ‘Wally’ Lim had the lowest gross for class C shooting nines of 40 and 42 for a total of 82 strokes.

The lowest net honors for class C went to Steve Alcoseba, who fired a tournament-best 66 strokes off a gross 88. Runner-up honors went to Rhoudie Tiu with 67 strokes.

Ramon Escario had the best gross score for class D with 108 strokes.

The lowest net plum for class D went to Henry Gocuan with 78 while runner-up honors went to Hisao Yagi with 89.

Masahisa Kawakami topped the seniors’ category, which is open for players 60 years old and above, with his gross score of 80 strokes.

The lowest net honors went to Edgar Chiongbian with 69 strokes edging Peter Po, Sr. in the countback. Po settled for the runner-up honors.

The guest division plum went to Anthony Bejar with a net score of 76 off a gross score of 83. Runnerup honors went to Akira Hatano with a net 77 off a gross 83.—
