The Mandaue City Police Office has tapped volunteers from a nongovernmental organization for support in the fight against criminality.

Mandaue City police chief Senior Superintendent Noel Gillamac after presenting handcuffs to the volunteers said the Guardians Brotherhood, Inc.— Mandaue Chapter, which is geared toward brotherhood and community service, is of great help to the police in preventing the commission of crimes. He said it is headed by national founder Hubart “Bob” Malazarte.

“Dako gayud kaayo og natabang ang mga sakop sa Guardians Brotherhood Inc. sa kalihukan sa kapolisan sa pagmentenar sa kahusay ug kalinaw sa dakbayan sa Mandaue,” Gillamac said.

During the Christmas party of Guardians Brotherhood Inc., Mayor Jonas Cortes told Gillamac to form a task force and to tap the services of members of the Guardians.

The task force was formed and called “Bantay Mandaue.”

Cortes said the police department needs the support of the community in its fight against all forms of criminality.

The city mayor also asked the private sector and non- governmental organizations to support the police in the fight against criminality.

Malazarte, in a separate interview with The FREEMAN said his organization support the police and the administration of Mayor Cortes.
