An alleged ex-convict was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding men midnight yesterday while heading home in Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City.

Nestor Sentillas, 53, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body. He was rushed to the Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City but died a few minutes after despite efforts of the physicians.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos, Homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said Sentillas was heading home when he was tailed by the assailants. Residents then heard successive bursts of gunfire.

Sentillas was found in a pool of blood while assailants sped off to an unknown direction.

Cuyos said they will investigate if Sentillas was involved in the illegal drug trade. He was once jailed for robbery and was released last 2009.

The police have yet to determine the motive of the crime and to identify the assailants.

Meanwhile, a shooting incident happened in J. Seno St., Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City at around 7:37 in the morning yesterday. No one was hurt but Randy Arellano and a certain Macmac were no longer in the area when the police arrived.

PO3 Rommel Oporto of the Mabolo Police Station said Mac-mac was armed with an improvised shotgun while Arellano was also armed with an undetermined caliber of firearm.

It was Mac-mac who reportedly went to the house of Arellano and challenged the latter to a fight. Arellano who heard Mac- mac shouting immediately ran outside the house. Macmac aimed at Arellano but his improvised shotgun did not fire.

Arellano fired at Macmac but missed.

Cherry Lyn Sanchez, the live-in partner of Arellano, told the police that Arellano borrowed the laptop of Macmac but failed to return this.
