Cebu Open Seniors golfest tees off June 28

The first ever open seniors golf tournament to be held in the Visayas and Mindanao region will take place at the Cebu Country Club on June 28-29. The twoday tilt is sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) which is chaired by Richie Garcia, one of the outstandin­g amateur golfers of the country.

The event is open to all senior golfers defined as 55 years old and above. The format will be 18 holes individual play with Club certified handicap with the player choosing one day in which to play.

Tee off time is between 8am and 12nn, while the free practice round will be on June 27.

Entry fee is pegged at P1,500, which may be paid to the Golf Administra­tive Office of CCC or deposited to the BPI account no. 3611-0018-34 of the CCC and thereafter a copy of the deposit slip should be sent to CC by fax (032-2314096) or e- mail at cebucountr­yclub@yahoo.com

The first 150 paid registrant­s will be accepted for the tournament.

Trophies will be awarded to the lowest gross and runner-up, overall lowest net and to the champions and runners-up of each division classified into classic (55-59), elite (60-64), statesmen (65-69) and vintage (70-above).

A Skygo motorcycle donated by Mario King of Skygo Marketing Corporatio­n is at stake for a hole-in-one. If no one makes an ace, it will go to the one who makes an eagle otherwise will be raffled off during the awarding ceremonies at 6:30 pm on June 29.
