Nokia’s Lumia
Running on the Windows Phone 7.5 ( Mango) operating system, the long awaited Microsoft+Nokia collaboration known as the Lumia Series has finally arrived, with its series highlight model - the Lumia 900 - to come this June.
Highlighting four Lumia models as part of the series' lineup, here's a quick rundown on Nokia's new Lumias, each made with to suit the needs of different users. The Lumia 610 - Turn Up The Fun With an internal memory of 8 Gigs, an 800MHz processor, 256MB (SDRAM) memory, a 5MP camera, and a TFT screen measuring 3.7", the 610 may be considered as the Lumia Series' "entry model", but that handle doesn't put the 610 as an inferior smartphone.
Sleek in terms of design and robust in terms of performance, the 610's 480 x 800 screen resolution makes it perfect for mobile browsing adventures, with features which enable the device as a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 WiFi-enabled phones.
As an "entry level" Lumia, the 610 does well if it were to stand out on its own. The Lumia 710 - Designed For You With swappable color covers, the 710 brings customization benefits to users, a feature which many mobile users have long seen to come in a smartphone of the 710's class.
Armed with a 1400MHz processor, 8 Gigs of internal memory, 512MB (SDRAM) memory, a 5MP camera and a 3.7" Corning Gorilla Glass screen with ClearBlack technology, the 710 can easily record videos in HD (720p @ 30FPS), just as any 720p digital camera could.
Changeable home screen colors complements with the 710's swappable cover feature, making the personalization of the 710 convenient, fast and easy. The Lumia 800 - Stunningly Social The 800's 3.7" AMOLED screen works well with its 8MP Carl Zeiss Optics in capturing HD videos, matched with the benefits featured by its 1400MHz processor and its enhanced data storage highlights.
Essentially an enhanced take over the Lumia 610 and Lumia 710, the 800's sleek design integrates its screen into a solid, no-nonsense polycarbonate body, as its 512MB (SDRAM) memory allows for the quick response of apps and functions, defining the 800 as a combination of beautiful form and robust function. The Lumia 900 - Live Large As the flagship model of the Lumia Series, the 900 sports a 4.3" AMOLED screen with ClearBlack technology, housed in a singlepiece polycarbonate body.
With a 1MP front camera made for video calls, the 900 can easily record videos in HD with its primary 8MP Carl Zeiss camera, storing captured videos in its featured 16Gig internal storage feature.
Powered by a 1400MHz processor and matched with a 512MB (SDRAM) memory, the 900 also features support for stereo Bluetooth audio, with proximity sensors and ambient light sensors leading to various software/ hardware function/feature combinations.
As WM7 mobiles, all four Lumias come with the added storage value of Skydrive, Microsoft's cloudstorage service feature, along with support for various Microsoft productivity essentials like SharePoint and Office 365.
Highlighting a unified contacts management system, users can easily access separate contact details in one convenient venue with the Lumia Series, integrating Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, chat, SMS, and email details all in one consolidated venue.
" The Lumia stands to be the complete option for today's mobile phone user, with features for work and for play," shared Dharmesh Goshalia, General Manager, Nokia Philippines, during the Nokia Lumia launch held in Café Laguna, The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu last May 22, 2012.
"As a series, it continues to live up to Nokia's Connecting People tag-line, making things easier, more convenient, and more fun."
