QCU routs Don Bosco United-a

Defending men’s open champion Queen City United spared no mercy in a 9-0 annihilati­on of Don Bosco United-A for its second straight win in the 15th Aboitiz Cup football tournament yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Xamson Olinayi went on a scoring spree, knocking in four goals through the 11th, 18th, 53rd and 88th minute. Joseph Rodriguez was the other QCU player to score at the 23rd.

Aside fom Olinayi, Jade Paglinawan also had a good time in nailing two goals at the 49th and 72nd.

Rene Menchavez chipped in a goal at the 65th, while Junard Aguilar sealed the deal for QCU at the 74th.

Don Bosco United-B, however, cruised through a 4- 0 demolition of Apas Mizkis.

DBU-B’s goals came from Jonix Jenson at the 36th, Warlo Sabella at the 40th, Mintk Choi at the 42nd and Jan Sabella at the 60th.

Samba FC, on the other hand, pulled off a 9-1 rout of San Roque FC.

Samba unloaded four goals in the first half courtesy of Kabulo Pinto at the 9th, Ahmed Hilow at the 12th and at the 37th and Fmure Henry at 30th. The rest of Samba's goals were produced by Hilow at 51st, Cedric Tumbo at the 54th, Samuel Piribe at the 55th and Leonard Mumbo at the 56th.

Em-Em Ybañez was the lone scorer for SRFC at the 15th.

In the inter-company/ BPO category, ConvergysA sustained its sizzling run with a 4-0 crushing of the Arkiteks, but Convergys-B bowed to Cebu Internatio­nal School, 2-0.

Springdale outsmarted Lear FC, 1- 0 while San Miguel United escaped with a 3-2 win over Timex-LS.
