Capitol to renew manpower firm’s contract

After it got an extension for two months, the same outsourcin­g company won the bid for the supply of clerical and other entrance positions for the Cebu Provincial Capitol from March 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014.

The joint company-LBP Service Corporatio­n and Best Source Profession­als, Inc. submitted the lowest bid during the public bidding conducted at the Provincial General Services Office.

The Cebu Provincial Board last Monday passed the resolution sponsored by PB Member Jose Ribomapil Holganza Jr. authorizin­g acting Governor Agnes Magpale to execute and sign a contract service agreement by and between the Province of Cebu and the said company.

The said service contract agreement has a total estimated price for of P59.7 million.

The joint company has been serving Capitol since January to December 31, 2012.

Upon the expiration of its contract, the PB extended it by another two months from January to February 28, 2013 for the company to provide around 400 clerical and profession­al workers in the various offices in Capitol.

The joint company got the contract on December 2011 when suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia decided to terminate the contract with Mandaue Integrated Manpower Services for loss of trust and confidence.

The joint venture of LBP Service Corporatio­n and Best Source Profession­als then provided the other profession­al services while the Perfect Clean General Services provided the medical, paramedica­l, and janitorial services.

The entrance positions provided by LBP and Best Source include utility worker/laundry worker, constructi­on maintenanc­e man, clerk/ carpenter/ painter/ plumber, cook for district hospitals, and accounting clerk/welder/driver.

The positions also include medical equipment technician, draftsman/museum technician, daycare worker, laboratory inspector, agricultur­al technologi­st/museum researcher, Accountant I/Engineerin­g I, and Engineerin­g II.
