CITOM chairman is out of hospital

Former Cebu City Councilor and City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) board chairman Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem is already out of the hospital.

Wife Sharon Jakosalem yesterday told reporters that her husband, who fell sick after filing his certificate of candidacy last year, is undergoing therapy at home.

“His health has not been perfectly well. But he’s undergoing rehabilitation every day. He nods, says ‘no’, and sits by himself,” Sharon said at yesterday’s press conference for “Run For Jack,” a fundraising fun run for the public servant.

Jack will become interactive when he fully recovers from the surgery he went through, she said.

“We made him stand because he wanted to walk. As advised by doctors, until the healing of his brain, that it’s okay, that’s the time he will become okay,” Sharon said.

The Team Rama candidate for councilor last May 2013 was confined to hospital from July 26 to August 10, Sharon said.

Also at yesterday’s press conference was Councilor Richie Osmeña, the author of the resolution for the fun run organized and initiated by the Cebu City government.

Councilor Mary Ann Delos Santos, who ran under the same party with Jakosalem, urged all city hall employees to participate, help and support the activity saying “we have to start from our own family.”

Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale were also sent invitations for the fun run, Osmeña said.

Three registration booths are at Cebu City Sports Center as well as executive and legislative buildings at the Cebu City Hall.

Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) also pledged support to the activity since Jakosalem is also an FM radio broadcaster.

The run will start and end at the Cebu City Sports Complex passing through Osmeña Boulevard taking a U-turn at the Cebu Provincial Capitol area.

Assembly time is as 4 in the morning with the run starting an hour after.

Registration fees are pegged at P1,000, P500, and P100.
