Midas Hotel luring tourists in junket gaming operations

Midas Hotel and Casino is expanding junket gaming operations to get more foreign players and tourists to the Philippines.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday, Leisure & Resorts World Corp. said its wholly- owned subsidiary Prime Investment Korea Inc. signed a supplement junket agreement with Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to offer additional services enhancing existing junket operations.

Leisure & Resorts World said the supplementary services allow PAGCOR and Prime Investment to tap into foreign gaming markets as a way of luring more foreign tourists into the Philippines.

" The supplementary services shall include operating gaming tables equipped with high definition video cameras, VoIP facilities, internet data facilities, among others, which shall allow PIKI to broadcast PAGCORapproved table gaming activities from within the gaming rooms to PAGCORapproved locations outside the Casino Filipino- Midas," the disclosure read.

Last July, Midas Hotel said it will stage junket gaming operations with regulator PAGCOR for three years with an option to renew at the end of the term.

Prime Investment also executed a sub- agency agreement on junket gaming operations with Gurutech Asia Inc. under the terms and conditions of the deal with PAGCOR.
