Pump station cashier slain

- — Flor Z. Perolina

A 22-year-old woman was found dead yesterday dawn in barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City with stab wounds in the different parts of her body.

Stella Marie Tumulak, of P. Rodriguez St., barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City, worked as a cashier of a gasoline station in the barangay.

She was declared dead at the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

Police said it was Tumulak’s habit to wake up early dawn and bathe before reporting for work.

Tumulak’s aunt and neighbors were awakened by cries for help at around 4:30 a.m. and eventually found Tumulak bathed in her own blood.

The aunt said Tumulak often quarreled with her live-in partner who was not at home when the killing happened.

Although no one saw the person who killed Tumulak, relatives strongly suspect that the live-in partner could have had a hand in the killing. They said jealousy could have been the motive for the killing.

Homicide investigator PO3 Lydo Pinos tried but failed to reach the live-in partner through his cellular phone.
