Bea and Dingdong cherish first team-up
“I appreciate the opportunity given me to work with Dingdong Dantes. At least, nababago naman ang nagagawa ko,” said Bea Alonzo of her latest movie “She’s The One” where she is paired with the Kapuso Primetime King who crosses over again to Star Cinema to star in his third film project for the film arm of the Kapamilya network.
“It’s a good experience to be given the chance to work with Dingdong. I’ve heard so many good things about him and the people were right in saying it was a pleasant experience to work with him. Ang sarap niya katrabaho kasi wala siyang reklamo. Every time I go to the set, I am always excited. It’s mainly because of Dingdong and the rest of the cast,” added Bea.
For his part, Dingdong says it’s also a welcome change for him to do a romcom after doing a horror film (Segunda Mano) and a drama (One More Try) for Star Cinema. “I haven’t done a rom-com for quite some time and it’s a pleasure to be able to do a movie with Bea. After two movies with Star Cinema, I never thought I’d be offered another assignment kaya naman pleasant surprise ang pagdating ng project na ito,” said the Kapuso hunk.
How would you describe the experience working with Bea? “Sobrang gaan katrabaho ni Bea kasi sobrang bait din niya,” said Dingdong. “What you see onscreen is a reflection of how good-natured she is as a person. Ang sarap niya katrabaho.”
The actor also expressed elation since “She’s The One” is part of the year-long 20th anniversary celebration of Star Cinema. “It feels special to be given the chance to be a part of a big celebration even if I wasn’t there since day one. But over the last two years, I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with Star Cinema,” said Dingdong.
The actor is likewise looking forward to the premiere of “Genesis,” his newest TV series on GMA 7 which starts on Monday, October 14. “This is another big project for me,” says Dingdong who plays a security officer in this tale of love amidst a disaster. The big-budgeted actiondrama- fantasy reunites Dingdong with Rhian Ramos, his partner in the remake of the Koreanovela “Stairway to Heaven” which became a big hit.
*** Lorna Tolentino is facing a new challenge as an actress as she plays the President in “Genesis.”
This is the first time that Lorna is playing the role of a president and the actress said she had to learn a lot of things about her character, especially when it comes to protocol. Even how she should do the salute was also taught to her. But she admits feeling excited because she describes her role as “the crying president.”
“It’s difficult to deliver a speech and cry at the same time,” LT told the press at the grand launch of “Genesis” Tuesday night. “Iba ito kasi ‘ yung dalawang lady president naman natin (Cory Aquino and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) ay hindi naman natin nakitang umiyak in the face of the many problems na kanilang nakaharap. Dito, ang problema ko ay kung paano haharap sa posibleng pagkagunaw ng mundo at kung paano namin ililigtas ang mga tao.”
Lorna was very beautiful and looked every inch the president in the dress she wore during the presscon. She said that she will not be doing any movie as she wants to give her time and focus to on her role as the female chief executive in “Genesis.”
*** Kapuso tween star Joyce Ching is now a regular cast of the longest-running gag show “Bubble Gang” which is also her favorite gag show. When she learned that there was a call for new members, Joyce wasted no time in trying out for a slot.
She didn’t think twice when she learned that “Bubble Gang” is on the lookout for new mainstays. “I was aware that the audition was also some sort of a contest. Those who passed the audition gets to be part of the show. Habang nasa ‘Bubble Gang’ kami, we were also being judged and evaluated if we have what it takes to be comedians. But I still joined kasi favorite ko talaga ang ‘Bubble Gang’ at gusto ko talaga maging part of the show.
“Ever since I became aware of ‘Bubble Gang’ on TV ay lagi ko na itong pinapanood. Enjoy kasi ako sa comedy at talagang wish ko na makasali rito. Dati pa- guest- guest lang ako pero this time, after the contest, ay regular member na ako ng cast. Anim kami na bagong members pero may dalawang grand winner. Hindi nga lang namin alam kung sino ang mga ito.”
“Bubble Gang” is celebrating its 18th anniversary while Joyce just marked her 18th birthday last January so she is as old as her fave gag show.
