‘The Revenge’ creates buzz

-

It's all systems go for the action-packed October 26 card at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. The tension is expected to be enormous. There will be war in the ring and fans are excited to witness an absolute, memorable match. Dubbed “The Revenge”, ALA Promotions' Pinoy Pride's 22nd installment is set to create a storm that takes world- class boxing entertainment to a whole new level.

Gunning for the vacant WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight title is the undefeated ALA stalwart Genesis “Azukal” Servania ( 22- 0- 8 KO's), who will go up against the fierce Panamanian Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion. Victorious after a frenetic brutal slugfest in Macau last July, Servania made his international debut with a technical decision win over Japanese pugilist Konosuke Tomiyama.

“El Torito”, on the other hand, is notorious among Cebuano fight buffs for knocking out AJ “Bazooka” Banal in front of thousands of his stunned countrymen in 2008.

Confident that he will destroy the 22- year- old Servania, the veteran fighter looks forward to be back in the Philippine boxing arena for the second time.

Five years ago at the Cebu Coliseum, the current WBC Fecarbox super flyweight Champion outslugged the then 18year- old rising star Banal during the 10th round of their WBA interim super flyweight title bout. The loss was considered one of the biggest upsets in Phl boxing history, not only for the young Filipino fighter and his camp but for all his countrymen who rooted for him to snare the world crown.

There has been ruckus amongst boxing aficionados on the outcome of the Servania-Concepcion fight. “The Revenge” is undoubtedly a compelling sports drama to its highest order.
