An owner of motorcycle spare parts and vulcanizing shops who is believed to be the suspect of the killing of a lending collector in Liloan was arrested last Tuesday afternoon.

Julian Cervantes, 53 years old, was nabbed by the police around 3 p. m. last Tuesday in his store at Sitio Capulay, Barangay Tayud, Liloan.

Earlier, June Quijano, employee of Fund Line Lending Company, was found dead and hogtied to a heat insulator sheet at the back of his motorcycle in Sitio Simborio, Barangay Tayud, Liloan town Monday night.

While roving, the team of PO3 Walter Quirol saw an abandoned motorcycle that has a cargo on its back. They then discovered a dead body wrapped inside a roof insulator and was tied to a rope.

Investigation showed that Quijano was last seen in Jugan, Consolacion and in Liloan. The victim reportedly suffered from severe head injuries. His personal belongings and daily collections, on the other hand, were reported to be missing.

Police chief Insp. Jose Liddawa of Liloan Police Station said that when they backtracked the route of Quijano before he died on that day, the establishment of Cervantes was the last establishment the victim went. The police reportedly found drops of blood inside the establishment of the suspect.

Liddawa added that Quijano possibly demanded payment from Cervantes last Monday and the latter might have not paid his loan.

The police conducted the search operations in the establishment of Cervantes yesterday along with the assistance from Scene of the Crime Operatives and Crime Scene Investigation.

The police are set to file murder case against Cervantes.
