CPPO to review Talisay police chief’s performance
Cebu Provincial Police Office Director, Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac assess the performance of Talisay City police chief, Supt. Resty Santos, following the request of Mayor Johnny De los Reyes for his relief.
Gillamac said that to be fair, he cannot just relieve an officer without assessing his performance.
“If and when makita nato nga dunay lapses ug naay wala ma perform sa standards as chief of police then we will recommend for his replacement,” said Gillamac adding that they will send a request to the Regional Officers and Placement Board on this matter.
Santos’ performance reportedly did not please De los Reyes.
Gillamac confirmed he was requested by De los Reyes last year but he deferred the request since Santos was still new to the city at that time and has yet to prove himself.
This time Gillamac said that De los Reyes has to put his request into formal writing and not just verbally.
“Two months pa man siya ( Santos) when there was a request,” Gillamac said.
Gillamac also denied reports that Talisay City police were protecting illegal activities.
Report said that when the National Bureau of Investigation coordinated with the local police in its operations, no one is arrested but if it not, it yield positive result.
