- — Bryner L.

Three unidentified suspects carted away more than a million worth of watches and jewelry from a man who was eating at a restaurant inside a mall in Barangay Mabolo last Friday night.

The victim was identified as Miguel Roda, 62, resident of 55 Roces Avenue, Quezon City.

Inside that bag, according to PO3 Virginia Caminog in an interview with BANAT News, were three Rolex watches worth P800,000 and two bracelets worth P200,000, two gold rings worth P35,000, ATM cards, bank passbooks, birth certificates and his passport.

Caminog said that while the victim was eating inside the restaurant, he placed his bag under the table near his feet.

The victim believed that his bag was taken by a female suspect who was with another two male suspects.

Caminog said that the two male persons allegedly tried to distract him while he was eating his dinner.

One of the two suspects then kicked the bag and the lady suspect took it away. After few moments, the two suspects then left the restaurant.

After eating, the victim noticed that his bag was no longer there so he quickly reported it to the police.

“Gibutang na niya dapit sa tiil, gipatid-patiran na sa mga suspect, nasalisi gyud na siya,” said Caminog.

Mabolo Police is currently investigating the identity of the suspects.

Meanwhile, a 23-yearold lady lost her P350,000 Rolex watch to a lady who she was transacting with online after they met past Friday afternoon.

Veronica Chongbian of 947-A V. Rama Avenue posted online on Thursday that she was selling her Rolex watch and a certain Jennelyn Meyer offered to buy the said watch.

On Friday afternoon, Meyer allegedly went into Chongbian’s residence and offered that she will buy the watch and asked Chongbian to follow her to the bank bringing with her the item inside the paper bag.

They took a taxi with plate number GXY 406 and upon reaching Fuente Osmeña Circle, Meyer told the victim that she will buy medicine at a pharmacy.

The taxi stopped and the suspect gave the victim P500, telling the victim to disembark first. But as soon as the victim disembarked from the taxi, the suspect suddenly grabbed the paper bag and the taxi sped off.

The victim reported the incident to theft and robbery section for proper investigation. Diaz/JMD
