- — Flor Z. Perolina

Four alleged drug pushers were nabbed by police in separate buy bust operations in the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue on Monday.

Police arrested Gilberto Baldovino, 54, and Edwin Manlisik, 34, both residents of Sitio Sacred Heart, Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

The buy-bust operation was conducted after Police Senior Inspector Rogelio Pineda of the City Intelligence Branch of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office received a call from an informant on the on-going illegal drug operation of the suspects in the said place.

Police said Baldovino was caught in act of selling a small sachet of suspected drugs. Recovered from his possession were two small plastic sachets containing white crystalline powder believed to be shabu.

Manlisik yielded five plastic sachets of "shabu" and police recovered from him the P200 buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia and a 9mm pistol with three live ammunition.

Both are currently detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office holding cell.

Meanwhile, in Mandaue City, two were also arrested while one was able to elude arrest when the CIB of Mandaue City Police Office in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 also conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Dasco, Barangay Paknaan Monday evening.

The operation came after the CIB received information that a certain "Ramil was selling illegal drugs in his residence that night."

At around 10 p.m., the operation was conducted resulting to the arrest of Marissa Sy, 34, single, jobless and a resident of Barangay Alang-Alang and another suspect, Quiter Anghag, 21, also of Barangay Alang-Alang.

Ramil, who was the subject of the raid, was able to flee bringing along with him the P1,000 buy-bust money.

Report said he fled upon sensing the presence of policemen near the premises of his home.

Ramil reportedly climbed on a window and ran towards a dim and secluded area at the back of his residence. During the chase, police were able to pick a cellophane which contained five small pieces of suspected shabu which they believed was thrown by the suspect while scampering away.

Recovered from Sy were drug paraphernalia while three small packs of suspected shabu were also recovered from the possession of Anghag.

During interrogation, they later learned the identity of the fleeing suspect as Ramil Lobiranes.

The suspects are currently detained at the Subangdaku Police Station as cases of violation of Section 11 and Section 12 of R.A. 9165 is being prepared against them and Lobiranes who remains at large.
