Good morning! How are your mornings going so far? “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise!”

I will never forget these words uttered of my uncle Benjie -- Benjamin Franklin, that is. – the original guru of self-control and productivity.

According to Forbs magazine, utilizing the morning hours before work may be the key to a successful and healthy lifestyle. CEOs, government officials and other influential people have all been living and practicing testimonies to this claim.

For example:

Oprah Winfrey, the chairwoman and CEO of Harpo Productions, wakes up early in the morning just to practice transcendental meditation for 20 minutes.

U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle always make it a point to wake up at least 4:30 a.m. to exercise before they report for duty around five hours later.

Anna Wintour, t he editor- i n- chief of Vogue magazine, reportedly starts her day with a rousing 5: 45 a. m. tennis match.

According to inc.Magazine, morning people have been found to live a more proactive approach in life and are more productive for the basic reason that sleeping early means waking up the following day with enough energy to sustain them in their activities.

In other words, what you do early in the morning evidently affects the turnout of your day. That is why starting it right, matters! Let’s try to explore some of the things that, according to Forbes Magazine, most successful people do every morning.

1. Exercise. Most people who work out daily work out in the morning. Exercising before work gives you a boost of energy for the day and that deserved sense of accomplishment. Anyone can tackle a pile of paperwork after 200 ab reps! It’ll definitely wake your body up ready for the day ahead.

2. Map Out Your Day. Maximize your potential by mapping out your schedule for the day, as well as your goals and to dos. The morning is a good time for this as it is often one of the only quiet times a person gets throughout the day. The early hours foster easier reflection that helps when prioritizing your activities. They also allow for uninterrupted problem solving when trying fitting everything into your timetable.

3. Eat a Healthy Breakfast. Take that extra time in the morning to fuel your body for the tasks ahead of it. It will help keep your mind on what’s at hand and not your growling stomach. Not only is breakfast good for your physical health,

it is also a good time to connect socially. Even five minutes of talking with your kids or spouse while eating a quick bowl of oatmeal can boost your spirits before heading out the door.

4. Visualization. The morning is the perfect time to spend some quiet time inside your mind meditating or visualizing. Take a moment to visualize your day ahead of you, focusing on the successes you will have. Even just a minute of visualization and positive thinking can help improve your mood and outlook on your work load for the day.

5. Make Your Day Top Heavy. Morning is the time when you are (generally) well rested and your energy level is up. Therefore, you are better equipped to handle more difficult projects. And look at it this way, your day will get progressively easier, not the other way around. By the time your work day is ending, you’re winding down with easier to dos and heading into your free time more relaxed. Success!

Who doesn’t want to be successful at the end of the day? To feel accomplished and fulfilled before we retire for the night is already a dream come true even before shuteye.

James Clear of Entrepreneur Magazine once said, “Many of the world’s great artists follow a consistent schedule.”

Friends, remember that success is never by chance. We schedule it and we work hard for it. So if you want to do it right, start fresh and wake up to a good morning!
