Holy Rosary School of Pardo, one of the oldest Catholic schools in Cebu City, will organize a running event for a cause billed as the "1st Rosarian Fun Run" slated on August 30 starting and ending at the school campus grounds in Poblacion, Pardo, Cebu City.

As an opening salvo for their countdown going through their 50th anniversary next year, the faculty, staff and alumni decided to stage a fun run to also serve as a medium to gather Rosarian alumni not only those who are here in the country but also those who are based abroad.

Close to 2000 runners are expected to take part of the charity race, which is also a fund-raiser to help build the Jubilee Building, which will be used by the grade 11 and 12 students preparatory for the K to 12 program of DepEd.

The categories to be contested are the 100m dash for grade four to kinder students, and 1K and 3K for the rest of the students, faculty members, and graduates of the school. The race is also open to competitive runners.

“Join with us in this journey to help our young students with their families to form a strong relationship and at the same time start a healthy lifestyle for us to serve better in our society,” said HRSP Directress Sister Zenaida C. Domingo, O.P.

“I am proud to be a Rosarian and I expect this event to be successful as this will be the start of the series of events of the school as we welcome our 50th year,” said Cebu City Councilor Sisinio ‘Bebs’Andales, one of the school's brightest alumnus.

Organizers said after this run, they are planning another fun run in February next year that includes longer distances.

Gift certificates and medals await the winners in each category. Registration fee is pegged at P150 for open runners, P300 for the alumni, and P300 for the students with their parents. The entry fee is inclusive of race bib and post-race refreshments.

One may register at Holy Rosary School of Pardo. For further inquiries, one may contact the school office at 2731915 or visit their facebook page Holy Rosary School-Pardo.
