City opens bidding for projects

The city’s Bids and Awards Committee is inviting contractor­s registered and classified by the Philippine Contractor­s Accreditat­ion Board to bid for infrastruc­ture projects in Cebu City.

The committee posted the invitation on the city government’s official website – www.cebucity.gov.ph.

“Prospectiv­e bidders shall possess a valid PCAB license applicable to the contract, have completed a similar contract with a value of at least 50% of the ABC, or have key personnel and equipment (listed in eligibilit­y forms) available for the prosecutio­n of the contract,” the invitation reads.

BAC-INFRA Chairperso­n Jose Marie Poblete said the pre-bid conference will be on September 18, 2014 and the receipt and opening of bid documents and conduct of eligibilit­y will be on October 2, 2014.

BAC-INFRA has reiterated that the city government will not be responsibl­e for compensati­ng the bidders for any expense they incur in preparing for the bids and that the city has the right to reject any and all bids and “to waive any defect or informalit­y in the bids and to declare a failure of bidding or not to award the contract.”

The six project clusters are distribute­d in different barangays.

The projects under Cluster 1 include constructi­on of a box type concrete lined canal in Sitios Centro Alaska, San Bernardo to Sitios Lomboy, Abay, Nava, Pungtod and Huyong-huyong in Barangay Mambaling.

The projects under Cluster 2 are focused on improving the Department of Manpower Developmen­t and Placement office, rehabilita­ting the riprap along the stretch of D. Gaisano Street in Barangay Tejero, and constructi­ng a one-story Day Care Center in Barangay Suba.

The constructi­on of stone masonry lined canal, wingwall, headwall and catch basin of an existing drainage in Proper Lusaran to Sitio Bombil in Barangay Lusaran is under the third cluster.

Projects in Cluster 4 include the establishm­ent of a pocket forest at the Cebu Botanical and Wildlife Center in Barangay Kalunasan while those in Cluster 5 include the constructi­on of Portland cement concrete pavement with drainage system in Sitio Gabi to Sitio Maraag in Barangay Sudlon 2.

Under Cluster 6 is the renovation and expansion of the CVRP building in Barangay Taptap.
