Wilcon holds 1st golf tourney

Wilcon hosted its first annual invitation­al golf tournament recently at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club, Mandaluyon­g City.

The much awaited event was attended by more than a hundred participan­ts composed of industry profession­als and Wilcon’s business partners. A tournament for a cause, First Wilcon Cup is organized to raise funds for the educationa­l programs of the company’s socio- civic arm Wilcon Foundation as well as the conservati­on efforts of Crocodylus Porosus Philippine­s, Inc.

Participan­ts arrived early in the morning to register and claim their giveaways which includes the tournament and awarding uniforms, compliment­ary cap, golf bag and golf balls. Players, clad in their white Wilcon Cup shirts, gathered first at Hole No. 1 as Wilcon President and CEO Mr. William Belo and SEVP-COO Ms. Rosemarie Ong led the Ceremonial Tee Off, marking the commenceme­nt of the tournament.

After the game, players were treated to a sumptuous lunch at Banquet AB, immediatel­y followed by the awarding ceremonies hosted by Johnny Litton and Tess Prieto Valdes. Players, now in their black and red awarding polo shirts, were welcomed by Wilcon’s Ms. Rosemarie Ong, expressing the company’s heartfelt appreciati­on for their support to Wilcon and for being part of the prestigiou­s event.

In presence of over one hundred guests, Mr. William Belo handed the check donation to Wilcon Foundation received by its President Rosemarie Ong and to Crocodylus Porosus Philippine­s, Inc. represente­d by its Chairman Mr. Angel Alcala. It was then followed by the awarding of tournament players by Mr. William Belo, Ms. Rosemarie Ong and Wilcon EVP- CFO Ms. Lorraine Cincochan.

Architect Mariano Arce is hailed low net champion, along with Gary James Go, Arthur Coronel and Architect Medeliano Roldan as Class A, B and C champions respective­ly. Mr. Blue Recto and Mr. Dan Salvador won the runner up for Class A group, while Architects Eduardo Casares and Henry Wee Ebol bagged the runner up award for Class B and C. Winners each received a Trophy and Wilcon Gift Certificat­es.

Aside from the tournament winners, Fun Hole Awards were also given to Mr. Gary James Go (Nearest to the Pin), Architect Henry Wee Ebol (Most Accurate Drive), Architect Paul Peña (Longest Drive) and Architect Al Blandura (Most Exercised). Mr. Manny Angeles is the lucky and sole Hole In One winner of the tournament, earning himself a Roundtrip Ticket for 2 to USA sponsored by Uni Orient Travel, Inc.
