- Caecent No- ot Magsumbol

The Team Triathlon Championship Series got a major boost with the entry of Paramount Property Ventures as the chief corporate backer for its 2015 edition that will kick off on March 29 in Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island.

This is the first time for Paramount, which is into real estate business, to sponsor a sporting event. Thanks to its Abelardo Canedo Jr. and sales and marketing director Arli Vergara.

As announced earlier, the Sugbutriathlon- organized event will go back to the age-bracketing for the classification of participants instead of leveling.

They will still award though the top three overall performers at the end of each leg.

For the team challenge, it's going to be the sum of the highest six scorers that will count, while the rest of the team's finishers in the race will count as one.

The total points earned after three legs will determine the overall champion that will receive P15,000. The first runner-up takes home P10,000, while the third placer pockets P5,000.

There will be no overall champion in the individual action, but cash prizes will be given away to the top three performers at the end of each leg.

On the other hand, a special kiddies division is still part of the series.

Interested parties may register online via sugbutriathlon. com. Entry forms are available at The Brick in Cebu IT Park or at Sports and at the Adventure Travel and Tours located across Gaisano Grand Mall in Talamban.

Entry fee is pegged at P2, 000 for the standard distance, P1,800 for sprint/individua), and P1,500 sprint/relay and kiddie tri. Those who will register after February 22 will have to pay an additional P500.

A package fee of P4,500 is available for triathletes who will register ahead for the three legs. The entry fee includes a finisher's medal, t-shirt, post- race meal, swim cap, bib, helmet and bike number.

Proceeds of the race will be donated to Sta.Fe's ASK project or Ambulasya Sumpay sa Kinabuhi.—
