‘Bakbakan sa Sugbu’ resumes today

-

Cebuano fight fans will witness another exciting mixed martial arts and kickboxing action with the resumption of the ‘Bakbakan sa Sugbu’ today at the Cebu City Sports Institute located in Barangay San Nicolas, this city.

The monthly grassroots program presented by Cebu City Sports Commission and Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu Martial Arts Inc., started last year. Its aims to give free entertainment to Cebuanos and at the same time scout for aspiring athletes that can someday represent Cebu in regional tournaments.

In the main event of MMA, Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu's Roel 'Akiyama' Rosauro guns for his second straight win as he takes on Mark Cuizon of Cebu MMA. Rosauro won his previous match by first round TKO victory over Redner Mendoza last February in Sogod, Southern Leyte.

In the supporting bout, Rosauro's teammate Duane 'Impaler' Gacasan will have his MMA debut against Rambo 'Cobra' Galleto of Malawi Fighting system.

Adding spice to the show is the kickboxing showdown pitting Sif 'Axeman' Badio of Unified Mixed Martial Arts versus Maven 'Pretty Boy' Rabanos of Project X and Bernard Enopia of Simaron MMA against Romerick Mocoy of Unified MMA.

In the kids division, Lander Caniga of Yaw-Yan Ar-Digma will slug it out with Edward Pelone of Durex KBC, while and Yul Martinez will battle Benedict Torbiso. — Lemuel P. Maglinte
