Drug suspect Jeanneth Abayan hides her face as police tale inventory of the more than P1.4 million worth of shabu found in her room after a buybust operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima yesterday.
More than P1.4 million worth of shabu was confiscated from a 27-year-old woman after she was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the operatives of the City Intelligence Branch in Sitio Buli, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City past 4 p.m. yesterday.
Jeanneth Abayan, a former overseas worker, and the mother of a one-year-old child, was arrested after she sold 21 small packs of suspected shabu to a poseurbuyer for P2,000.
Superintendent Romeo Santander, CIB chief, said that the suspect was placed under surveillance after reports of her suspicious activity.
After her involvement in the drug trade was confirmed Santander said a poseur-buyer bought P2,000 worth of drugs from the suspect inside her house yesterday afternoon. The suspect was in her room on the second floor repacking sha- bu when the transaction happened.
After the deal was complete the poseur-buyer notified the police team and they came into arrest the suspect.
The police recovered more than 100 grams of packed shabu and granules of unpacked shabu from the suspect. Two weighing scales, a vault and more than P4,000 in drug money were also confiscated.
Abayan said the shabu was not hers and she was just asked to repack it into smaller packs. She added that different people give her shabu to be repacked and then come back to take it.
She said that she engaged in repacking shabu to provide for her sickly child.
Santander said that the suspect is a Level 1 drug pusher who can dispose more than 300 grams of shabu per week.
